Firstly, I want to explain why I am writing in English. I was born in Rome and my mother tongue is Italian. However, I lived in Bristol in England for five years and my English is now pretty good. I want to practise it here. So do forgive me.

It's coming up to my girlfriend's birthday and I'm not sure what I should buy her as a present. I'm trying to choose between a new Yamaha P95 digital piano and a silver necklace, which is a little bit cheaper but still expensive. I don't necessarily believe that you need to spend lots of money to prove to someone that you love them. But at the same time, we've been together for three years so if I buy her something that is very cheap it may give her the wrong impression completely. I think it's important to show the person you love just how much they mean to you. And therefore I am more than happy to spend a little extra on her birthday.

It's difficult for me to know whether she'd prefer the digital piano or the necklace. She loves playing the piano but she doesn't have enough space in her new apartment for a full upright piano. So the P95 would probably be perfect for her needs. But she also loves jewelry and the necklace I saw really does look beautiful. I guess I will ask her best friends what they think before I go ahead and buy!
